Another key recipe in Bulgarian cuisine. Slowly cooked, spiced with spearmint, rich in flavor. Simple, yet especially loved meal. Bulgarian beans soup – Soo Tasty with Soo Foodies!

  • You can serve with sausage and chilly
  • Bake it in the oven to reduce the liquid and have a side dish or a vegan meal
  • You can use fresh savory instead of dry

Soak the beans in a water for 10-12 hours before cooking or boil the beans for 5 min, discard the water and boil in fresh water again. Add the onion and the carrots sliced into tiny pieces and continue boiling for an hour.

When beans and all the veggies are soft and ready add the peeled and sliced tomato, oil and the dry spices. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes.

Remove from the heat and add the spearmint.
