  • Jam test during preparation – put a single drop on a plate, if it remains stable, jam is ready
  • Citric acid avoids jam crystallization (sugar concentration)
  • Get creative and make nice labels in addition

Clean plums from the pits and cut in two halves. Cover with sugar and foil. Wait for 2-3 hours in order fruits to release their natural juice.

Bake in oven until jam gets thick, approximately 2 hours at 220 C temperature. Make a test if the jam is ready - drop from the jam on ceramic plate and turn plate vertically. if the drop spills a little and stops, the jam is ready. It will thicken a little bit more. When the jam is ready, add citric acid and vanilla.

Distribute in jars while hot. Decorate with walnuts on top and put the screw caps. Turn upside down in order high temperature to seal the caps. No need to boil the jars additionally. Leave some to eat right away and make some pancakes to join the jam.
